World of Warcraft v1.10 is Out

WoW v1.10 is out, but I still haven't been able to get on and do a quick test of MonkeyQuest. I don't expect any problems besides the the .toc interface number saying MonkeyQuest is "out of date". If you don't know by now, just checking "Load out of date AddOns" will fix that problem.

I'll just wait until the next version of MonkeyQuest is ready before uploading an "up to date" version. Looks like development on MonkeyQuest will speed up now that my whole interface setup is screwed up and that makes playing a little difficult :)

Feel free to report any v1.10 issues here in the comments.

New Look

There's a new look for .toctastic! now. If it looks funny, shift-click the reload button to get the latest style sheet loaded. It's nothing fancy, but it looks clean and lightweight. And it's better than the wordpress default :)

There's a few issues with Internet Explorer, which you really shouldn't be using anyways. The .toctastic! page is best viewed with Firefox, so if you don't have it, support the site and...

Get Firefox (on the sidebar, if you don't already have it)

Update: The Get Firefox button doesn't even show up in IE. So I removed it. Blah, just go here, or throw me a bone and click the big "Get Firefox" button on the sidebar. Note: Firefox users won't see the sidebar one.

BhaldieInfoBar Support Coming

The next big feature for MonkeyQuest is BhaldieInfoBar support. There's still a lot of polish to do before it's ready. The basic way it'll work is you'll mouse over the MonkeyQuest button on the BhaldieInfoBar and the main MonkeyQuest frame will popup beneath it, much like most bar plugins tooltips. When you leave the MonkeyQuest frame, it'll disapear.

For those of you who haven't heard of BhaldieInfoBar, it's like TitanBar except there's only one version and it's actively developped. It's not buggy like some versions of Titan I've tried recently. Btw, why are there so many versions of Titan floating around? It's confusing.

There are no plans to add support for other bar mods.

Also, it'll probably be the last major feature before I start up on MonkeyQuest 3, which will be from scratch. World of Warcraft version 1.10 adds a lot of cool new features to the interface I'd like to use, but if I do then I might as well start over and do it properly.

MonkeyMods And WoW v1.10

I finally got on the new test servers to try my mods. I didn't spend too much time but everything apeared to be working fine.

Everything except MonkeySpeed in Trisfal Glades. The speed calculated was about 50% slower than normal, which would be ok, simply executing "/mscalibrate" while running at 100% will re-calibrate. But the speed was jumpy and was showing up +/- 3% from normal running speed. So if all the zones have wonky map position scales like that, MonkeySpeed might be rendered useless. But more testing is needed there.

Just a note about WoW v1.10, it looks like Blizzard is cracking down on the frowned upon mod behaviors such as hooking the movement functions. This is breaking a lot of mods, not all of which are "evil."

Crash And Charcoal Are Gone

Crash removed all traces of his mod, including the Charcoal area of the forums, sometime last week without telling me. I still don't know why.

Later he came back to post in the General forum, where I finally found out that he wasn't just preparing for the next Charcoal release, he was leaving. After reading his post and the thread it was in, I decided to shut down the forums before the whole thing got out of hand.

I wish him luck wherever he's gone, and I'll post a link when he resurfaces.
