Well it's been 3 months at least since we've heard a peep from Trentin. Thank god I never updated to the alpha, and just keep using the old version that works. It's too bad he doesn't even let all of us know that MQ is dead, or at least let us know he is on hiatus. Pretty bad to drop an alpha and then abandon it.

Truth be told, when people are as ungrateful as the WoW community, you can't blame a guy for cutting and running without looking back.

I, and my friends, are true Monkey Mod fans. We truly hope the development of this Mod Pack will continue. We also realize that WoW and WoW mods are supposed to be fun. If real life gets in the way, WoW takes a back burner. We hope all is well and hope to see you enjoy WoW again soon. You were/are much appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Pretty serious problem with Bagnon compatability right now... I love both the mods and want to see them work in harmony... Is a fix in the works for this?

I hate to be the big meanie there, but I REALLY wish that someone (who knows more about this than I) would just "update" the older version so that it "appears" new to the update instead of messing it up. I downloaded the Alpha (only for MonkeyQuest, really), and it looks like it went down the toilet, and my list of complaints with the MonkeyQuest Alpha is so long that it's nicer to just say "update" the old version to look.....just like the old version.
Thanks.

Personally i don't like this Alpha version. I like the way the old one could grow with new quests, this one you have to freakin scroll to see your stuff, or make it longer and then everything is uptop.

Someone updated the older stable (non-alpha) version of MonkeyQuest on Curse to not cause errors in WoW 2.2:
MonkeyQuest (Continued)
It seems it's not working perfectly yet, but it's surely better than nothing. Enjoy!

Sorry folks,
MQ Library 2.5 is broken under Patch 2.2. There is some very odd problem where no tooltips on anything in the inventiory will show.
It is the Lib that is broken, so no MQ, MQLog etc.

If you open the file MonkeyQuestTooltip.lua from the stable MonkeyQuest (not the alpha), you'll find the following two texts on lines 46 and 46 and 48, respectively:
46: function MonkeyQuest _ NEW _ ContainerFrameItemButton _ OnEnter()
48: MonkeyQuest _ OLD _ ContainerFrameItemButton _ OnEnter();
(I've added some spaces to the actual text in the two lines above, or they wouldn't appear here. In the original there are no spaces.)
I've found three suggestions to solve the problem we're experiencing on WoW 2.2:
a) In both lines, add "arg1" inside the "OnEnter()" pieces, so that they appear as "OnEnter(arg1)";
b) Instead of "arg1", use "self": "OnEnter(self)";
c) Instead of "arg1" or "self", use "...": "OnEnter(...)";
I'm currently using alternative "c", and it's working here. The Continued version on the link I provided above uses "a". And some people seem to be using "b" successfully too.
So, if your MonkeyQuest doesn't work, try any of them. That's the best we can do until an official updated version appear. I hope one will, someday.

A lot of the problems you guys are having with vanHell's update is your prolly trying to use it with alpha 3.0 its not meant to be used with alpha 3 download 2.5.1 and update the toc files to 20200 and copy over his 2 folders and make sure those tocs are 20200, or alternately use load out of date and monkey quest 2.5.1 works perfectly fine.

The addons are back! The official packages are being updated on Curse! Follow the link:
MonkeyPack 2.6.2
I've downloaded them and they're working perfectly.
PS.1: The versions informed are from the time I posted this.
PS.2: Maybe you have to be logged into Curse to see the download button. I'm not sure.

Is V3.0 ever coming out? I loved many of the features of it before but some annoying bugs made it tough to keep using.

you can get the latest versions of MQ here
http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/3978/
and at this time I dont believe MQ 3 is in the works just an updated 2.6 version.

Looking good, I like it. I have a feature request, from nQuestLog. it has an option or options to automatically collapse/expand zone headers based on what zone you're in, so by default you only see the quests you probably care about at the moment. Good stuff, and nice work, I'd love to come back to MonkeyQuest. I used it for a long time.

christ are all you ppl to damn lazy to read posts or something version 3 IS NOT BEING RELEASED AT THIS TIME AND MAY NEVER BE RELEASED. There is a perfectly good working edition of 2.6.4 at http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/3978/
so go get it and quite your whining about 3.0 its alpha and will prolly ever be finished from there as the main author has life stuff thats more important.
